This book is a compendium of many papers presented at the Third European-Japanese Joint Conference for Cerebral Stroke Surgery, held in Zurich, Switzerland. The papers are organized into 4 sections: (1) aneurysms, arteriovenous malformations, and fistulas; (2) dissection of cerebral arteries; (3) revascularization procedures and extracranial to intracranial bypass revisited; (4) moyamoya angiopathy and history. The book begins with some information about the ARUBA trial (a randomized trial of unruptured arteriovenous malformations) by J. P. Mohr and ends with some thoughts about the historical landmarks in vascular surgery by Juha Hernesniemi and others.
As may be expected from such a book, the quality of the articles is variable, since it was subjected to the peer review process typical of journal articles.
