Myasthenia Gravis was a pleasure to read. The text was well written, the references copious and up-to-date, and the views reflected the extensive personal experience of the authors with the subject.

The book's limitations were few. The use of black-and-white photographs throughout was a drawback in the sections on immunopathology, histology, and pathology, where color would have added to the clarity of the pictures.

Typographic errors were infrequent, and I noted a confusing error only on page 108, where eta was used in place of the correct term, epsilon, to describe one of the subunits of the adult acetylcholine receptor. Only very rarely did the sentence structure reveal that the authors were European and, when present, this did not detract from the clarity of the text. Many American authors would like to write so well!
